Dutch national team member and current Barcelona forward, Memphis Depay, could soon change teams and move to Atletico Madrid, according to some journalists.
Fabrizio Romano and Toni Juanmart, two very reliable sources, confirmed that Memphis is close to Atlético, and for only 3 million euros.
The Dutchman is in the last year of his contract with Barcelona and will leave the club in the summer without any compensation.
The sale would certainly benefit the Barcelona, given that they have been struggling with financial problems for a couple of seasons, and given that Xavi “crossed out” Depay after Lewandowski’s arrival, this amount that Atlético is willing to pay is excellent.
A few days ago, Memphis agreed to personal terms with the team from “Vanda Metropolitan” and should soon sign a contract with the “quilters” until June 2025.
Catalan media are now reporting that Xavi is disappointed that Depay is moving to a rival club and is citing a lack of professionalism on the part of the Dutch footballer.
