Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes that the people from “Old Trafford” are not behaving fairly towards Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguayan came to United in October 2020 as a free agent. He signed a contract until the end of the 2021/22 season. Cavani provided great games last season, and this year he did not get many chances after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the “Red Devils” team.
- Although he had a good last season, Cavani does not play much. When someone like Ronaldo comes to the club, all the spotlight is on him, he plays all the games. That is not fair, because Cavani was so good for the team last season, he deserved a new contract, and then Ronaldo took his place. It is not fair, but such things happen in football – said Berbatov.
According to foreign media, there is already a chance that the Uruguayan striker will leave United in January. It has been speculated for some time that Cavani has an offer from Barcelona.
- If there is a chance, if he has an offer from Barcelona, of course he will think about it, because he wants to play more. I would support him and tell him to go and play, so that he could earn a lot of money, and I would remind him that he is no longer 24 years old – concluded Berbatov.
