Real Madrid football player Karim Benzema will miss the upcoming match in Primera against Espanyol due to an ankle injury, but he should be ready for the duel against Liverpool in the Champions League, the coach of that club Carlo Ancelotti said today.
“Karim was hit in the ankle, which swelled up… He trained individually today and will be ready for the game against Liverpool,” Ancelotti said.
Benzema missed 12 Real Madrid games this season due to injuries, as well as the World Cup in Qatar.
“We have yet to reach the most important part of the season and we believe that Benzema will be there to help us,” said Ancelotti.
On Wednesday, Real Madrid welcomes Liverpool in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League, with a 5:2 advantage from the first leg.
After that, the Madrid club awaits the visit of Barcelona in Primera, an important match in the fight for the title in Spain. Real currently occupies second place in the table, nine points behind Barcelona.
