Batshuayi: Conte was contradictory, I was deceived at Chelsea

Fenerbahce football player Michy Batshuayi points out that he was deceived during negotiations with Chelsea by manager Antonio Conte.

Batshuayi came to Stamford Bridge in 2016 from Marseille for 39 million euros.

From the beginning, the Belgian had a problem with minutes at the London club, and later he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace, Besiktas and now Fenerbahce.

The Fenerbahce player sees Tottenham coach Antonio Conte as the reason for the bad episode at Chelsea.

“During our conversation, Conte was contradictory. He said that he wants me to play in tandem with Diego Costa. I believed it, of course – he had played with a partner in attack before. That wasn’t the case in Chelsea, I couldn’t understand what had changed since our conversation. It is true that I have been deceived too often”, said the Belgian.

Batshuayi played 77 times for Chelsea, but in the “Blues” jersey, he was on the field for only 31 minutes on average. However, this did not stop him from scoring 25 goals and providing six assists, and Conte’s departure in 2018 did not overly affect his status at the London club.
