ARTETA AFTER THE DERBY: I have more optimism than I had before the match

After the defeat in the derby against Manchester City (3:1), Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made his comment and said that some mistakes must not be repeated.

“It was a great fight, a fight in which, until we conceded the second goal, we had the feeling that we could beat them. But we gave them a chance to give us three goals at the end. There are some mistakes you can’t make at this level. And at the same time, we played at a high level”, said Arteta after the match.

“They played with long balls and that caused us problems, we didn’t read those situations well and that’s why we got a penalty,” added the Arsenal manager.

With this win, Manchester City moved into first place in the Premier League thanks to a better goal difference, but Arsenal has one match less. As for the title race, the Arsenal manager is not giving up hope, moreover:

“I have more optimism than I had before the match because of the way and level of play we showed against a rival like City. They wanted to play a different game. With the fans, I think we can do it”, concluded Arteta.
