Exactly the day after tomorrow, the long-awaited biography of the legendary Arsene Wenger will be published, which has already begun to attract world attention with certain excerpts that have leaked to the public.
There is no doubt that the popular “professor” will reveal many secrets and thus shake up the football world in the days to come.
But until the whole book is available, we will deal with what is available to us. What is most intriguing at the moment is that the Frenchman regrets that he did not leave the Arsenal bench earlier.
– I completely identified with the club, that was my mistake. My fatal flaw was that I loved where I was too much. I’m sorry about that. I should have gone somewhere else. Sometimes I wonder, did something break after that season in which we were undefeated?
Wenger states that he had two options in 2007 and that he chose the one he regrets.
– The year 2007 was a turning point, that was the first time I felt tensions within the administration. I was torn between loyalty to the club and loyalty to David Dane (then co-owner of Arsenal). I still wonder if I did the right thing, because life was not the same after that.
If he had decided differently then, Wenger could have significantly supplemented the biography of the world’s leading clubs in which he would have had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest football players of today.
– I could take over the national team of France, and the national team of England two or three times. I could have gone to Real Madrid twice, I could have moved to Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, even to Manchester United – states Wenger.
We are also waiting for the official release of the book to see what else comes from the pen of the 72-year-old legendary coach…
