Real Madrid will take on Juventus in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup after finishing top of Group H. Despite winning the group, Madrid face a tough path with Borussia Dortmund, PSG, and Bayern Munich all on their side of the draw.
Under new manager Xabi Alonso, Madrid have hit form, winning their last two group games 6-1 on aggregate and extending their unbeaten run at the tournament to 13 matches.
Juventus finished second in Group G after a heavy 5-2 loss to Manchester City. That ended a four-game winning streak and marked their first time conceding five goals in an international match since 1958.
The sides have met 21 times before, with Madrid narrowly ahead (W10, L9, D2). Juventus have won five of the last ten meetings.
Madrid haven’t scored in the first 30 minutes of their last six games, while Juventus have scored at least twice in each of their last five. Real’s Gonzalo García and Juve’s Kenan Yıldız have both been involved in a goal in every group match.
Madrid may wait on Kylian Mbappé’s fitness, while Juventus are without the injured Nicolò Savona.
