Malta capped off the final day of youth competitions at the 2025 Nations Cup in Bridlington with an impressive haul of two gold medals and one silver.
The national under-15 team, consisting of Nick Muscat, Jake Castaldi, Denzel Falzon, and Dielyn Edwards, and led by Robert Attard, delivered a dominant performance to defeat Northern Ireland 8-4. The Maltese squad maintained control throughout the match to secure the gold medal.
A second gold was claimed by Jake Castaldi, who overcame England’s Bailey Earlston with a commanding 5-1 victory. Castaldi displayed remarkable precision and composure, dominating the match from start to finish and leaving his opponent with limited opportunities to respond.
Meanwhile, Malta’s under-23 team earned a silver medal after a hard-fought 13-9 loss to England in the final. Despite the result, the team, made up of Nordai Desira, Casdy Vella, Chaylon Castaldi, Steven Muscat, Matthias Debono, and Neil Caruana, under the guidance of Kyle Zammit, put up strong resistance. However, a series of late breaks favored the English side, allowing them to pull ahead and clinch the win.
The silver medal remains a significant achievement for the Maltese youths, marking another milestone on the international stage.
