Young Maltese player Dielyn Edwards has reached the quarter-finals of the individual event at the European Blackball Championships, currently being held in Ennis, Ireland.
Edwards impressed in his first two matches, winning both by 5-0 against Nick Muscat and Riley Morton. He will return to action in two days’ time to face Darragh Gallagher for a place in the semi-finals.
There were also good results for Malta in the team events. The Men’s A Team earned a strong 17-8 win over Ireland, while the Men’s B Team beat Wales B1 15-10. The Seniors Team also managed a close 13-12 victory, again against Ireland.
The Under-23 Team defeated Wales 16-9, while the Under-15 Team beat Wales 10-5 before losing 9-6 to Ireland A.
