''Jokic is still the MVP, Embiid ''dies'' in the last quarter''

Gilbert Arenas, the celebrated NBA ace, after finishing his playing career, excelled in the role of an analyst. This time he talked about the MVP award and made Nikola Jokic the favorite.

The Serbian basketball player fell from the first place favorite to win the award for the most valuable player of the NBA League, which is now held by Embiid.

However, the former star of Washington still considers Serbian to be the first in line when it comes to the MVP award.

“At this moment, Nikola Jokic is the MVP, because he is a center who does things that centers have never done throughout history, which is to record a triple-double. With all that, Denver is first in the West,” said Arenas to “SiriusXM NBA Radio.”

“What he does is very, very difficult for a player in his position. A center who has such passing ability, while also scoring and rebounding,” added the former All-Star.

After Jokić, he mentioned Antetokounmpo as the second candidate, and only then Embid.

“This season I don’t see a huge improvement of Embiid. A lot of possessions are wasted just for him to kick. That’s why he usually “dies” on the field in the fourth quarter, because he gets tired. “There is nothing that would make me put him first in the MVP race,” Arenas concluded

“What he does is very, very difficult for a player in his position. A center who has such passing ability, while also scoring and rebounding,” added the former All-Star.
