The winners of the BOV Basketball Players of the Year for season 2023/2024 will be announced during an awards night organised by the Malta Basketball Association and Bank of Valletta on Monday 14th October 2024.
The BOV Basketball Players of the Year awards are given to the best performing player of the season, both on and off the court and judged by a panel of experts from the Basketball scene. FIBA World General Secretary Andreas Zagklis will be the guest of honour during this event. Zagklis is responsible for developing and implementing FIBA’s current 8 year strategy and well as empowering the National Federations through the FIBA PLUS development programme.
The event will also see the presentation of 5 ‘Special Achievement Awards’ to individuals who have made great contributions to the development of the game as well as the Tony Camilleri Fair Play award, a recognition of exemplary behaviour that promotes the spirit of fair play and compassion in Basketball.

This is a very important year for both organising associations as the MBA is celebrating its 60th Anniversary while Bank of Valletta is celebrating its half century. The collaboration between the two organisations can be traced back to the 1970s, a relationship that gew stronger over the last 2 decades through the commitment towards good health and wellbeing through sports of both organisations.
