Klay Thompson, the American basketball player, has finally healed his injury, and tonight he will play for the first time since the final in June 2019.
Thompson will play for the Warriors against Cleveland.
One of the best threesomes in history was injured in June 2019 in the sixth match of the final series against Toronto.
He scored 30 points in that match, but he tore the ligaments in his left knee, and without him, the Warriors lost the series on the court.
He signed a new contract with Golden State, and then immediately went “under the knife”.
Given that Golden State is playing great this season (28-9), if Klay returns to the “old settings”, – they will be unstoppable.
Let us remind you, in the last season, Steph Curry’s “brother” averaged 21.5 points per match.
Coach Kerr made a brief statement for the Golden State duo:
We waited far too long, but seeing Steph and Klay together on the court again will be thrilling for all of us in the “warriors.” “Almost unbelievable after all the events of the previous two and a half years,” said Steve Kerr, Golden State coach.
Thompson has been an NBA champion three times, five times in All-Star games.
