Coach Tom Thibodeau removes struggling Kemba Walker from New York Knicks' rotation

The four-time All-Star and New York Knicks playmaker, Kemba Walker, dropped out from the rotation at this club, by the decision of the coach.

The former Charlotte and Boston basketball player came to the Knicks as a big reinforcement, but he did not fulfill the expectations this season.

Walker currently averages ten points on average with a very poor shot percentage.

Unfortunately for him, Alec Burks played great in the last match against Atlanta, where he scored 23 points and bought himself a place in the starting lineup.

Another reason for removing Walker on the bench is the height of the Knicks’ outside line, which together with him was very low (Fournier and Barrett).

This decision was announced to the media by the coach of the team from Madison Square Garden, Tom Thibodeau, and the decision will take effect from the next match with Brooklyn.

It is a difficult decision, but we always have to think about what is best for it. I see Kemba as a starter, so it would be hard to play with three low backs at the same time. I have considered this in detail, I respect Kemba a lot as a person and everything he has achieved in this league – said the helmsman of the Knicks, and continued.

I want to strengthen the rotation. I liked the way we functioned against Atlanta – concluded Thibodeau.

Statistics support this decision. Namely, the Knicks are first in the defensive rating when he is off the court, and last when he is on the court. As for the attack, the 27th team in the league is with him, while they are ninth without him.
