Marcus Rashford breaks silence with five-word response after Ruben Amorim Man United questions

Marcus Rashford has ended his social media hiatus for the first time since announcing his intention to depart Manchester United. The seasoned striker, who has spent twenty years at the club, was absent from the team sheet for their previous three fixtures.

Whilst speculation indicated that the verdict to transfer him came from the Old Trafford executives, incoming boss Ruben Amorim maintains it was his decision. Rashford’s most recent social media activity showed him visiting Button Lane, his former primary school, where he handed out Christmas gifts.

During this school visit, he disclosed his plans to exit his childhood club after spending nine years in the senior squad. Recently, Rashford has posted an image featuring himself surrounded by family and dear ones before Christmas Day, with the message “Family time. Happy Christmas everyone.”

This comes after Amorim questioned whether it was truly Rashford’s decision to publicly express his desire to leave United.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Red Devils’ boss said: “Of course it is a hard situation. But I understand that this kind of player, they have a lot of people around them making some choices that are sometimes not the first idea from the player. So I understand, I can separate things. I am always here for helping Marcus as another player. And they have to do what they have to do “, reports the Mirror.

The head coach commented on the interview situation with Marcus Rashford, stating, “I say they chose to do that interview, because it’s not just Marcus, and I understand that. As a coach I am just focussed on the performance, the way he trains. And the rest, I think it is better for me and the club to deal with that when the time comes.”

He then refocused on Rashford’s on-pitch contributions, “At the moment I am just focussed on improving Marcus. We need a lot in this moment the talented guys like Marcus and I forget for now the interview. I just see what I see on the pitch.”

In team news, Rashford might be missing from the lineup against Wolves on Boxing Day, as United, who find themselves in 13th place, seek to reverse their season’s fortunes after a particularly difficult first half. Following a dire 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth, Amorim’s squad missed out on securing consecutive Premier League victories for the first time this year.

The winter transfer window is set to open on January 1.
