Juventus better in the city derby

The city derby of Turin, better known as the ‘Derby Della Mole’, between Juventus and Turin, ended with a score of 0:1 in favor of the old lady.

Torino still doesn’t know how to win against the Juventus. In the 2014/15 season, they won with a score of 2:1, and since then they have not known a city derby triumph for the 17th game in a row.

The coach of the Serbian national team, Dragan Stojkovic Piksi, was also present at tonight’s match, who accompanied his national team players, as many as five of them were starters in tonight’s derby.

The first half was a slow game on both sides. There wasn’t any excitement until the 35th minute when Vlahovic broke out alone in front of his representative colleague, Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who managed to save a shot from the Juventus striker, the ball bounced to Locatelli who immediately sent a shot, but Milinkovic-Savic didn’t let him shake the net either.

The second half, in many respects, similar to the first. Massimiliano Allegri’s team attacked more, while Torino waited for an opportunity from the counterattack. On both sides, Locatellihad a chance in the 51st minute, when Vanja saved his net again with a great intervention, and on the other side, in the 58th minute, Vlasis sent a great shot from distance, but Šćešnji was composed and easily saved the Croatian’s shot.

And then after another great chance for Vlahovic, Vanja deflects the ball into the corner. It was performed by Juan Cuadrado in the 74th minute, Danilo headed the ball to the second post where Vlahovic was himself and finally shook the net of his representative colleague Milinkovic-Savic.

Until the end of the game, Juventus routinely kept the advantage and once again defeated the city rival. With this victory, Allegri took the pressure off himself and the team due to the disastrous results of late. They reached seventh place with 16 points, while Torino remained 11th with the same number of points.
