The fans of Paris Saint-Germain insulted the Argentine superstar Lionel Messi in the match against Lyon in the French championship where the club from Paris was defeated with the result 1:0.
The legendary French national team player Emmanuel Petit reacted to these insults, calling this move by the fans “an insult to football”.
“I hear a lot of criticism that says Messi walks on the pitch. However, the Argentine is the conductor of the orchestra, he directs his teammates. When someone whistles at such a master, it is an insult to football,” Petit said.
The former world champion from 1998, the European champion from 2000 and former player of Monaco, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea, believes that the fans of the club from Paris cannot blame the main stars for the failure.
“PSG’s problem is not players like Messi and Neymar. You have to know how to use them. Look at Argentina which surrounded Messi with warriors ready to die and give their blood for him. It reminds me of the time when I played with Zidane. Well, I wouldn’t have told him to play defense, but I did it so that he could manage the orchestra,” said Petit.
