President Spyros Capralos will lead the European Olympic Committees for the next four years at the head of a reshaped Executive Committee, following elections at the 54th EOC General Assembly in Frankfurt today.
President Capralos was re-elected unanimously alongside vice-President Daina Gudzinevičiūtė and treasurer Peter Mennel. Italian NOC Secretary General Carlo Mornati was elected as the new EOC Secretary General, and will replace Raffaele Pagnozzi, who is retiring after 19 years in the role.
Furthermore, the elections for the Executive Committee saw six of the previous members re-elected to their positions, with six new members elected to join them for the four-year mandate from 2025 – 2028. The newly elected Executive Committee has an equal split of six females and six males.
Following his re-election, President Capralos said:
“Thank you for trusting me to serve as your President for the next four years. It is a huge honour for me to receive your support. I am very grateful for your confidence and we have so much to look forward to.”

Hasan Arat has been nominated as an Ex-Officio member of the ExCom, in relation to the Istanbul 2027 European Games, while Athletes’ Commission Chair Alistair Brownlee and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg remain Ex-Officio members in their roles.
