Tsitsipas was left without a coach before Roland Garros

Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas was left without Australian coach Mark Philippousis a few days before the start of Roland Garros.

Philippoussis announced that there was a break in cooperation with the fifth tennis player in the world.

“Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your team. It’s been a great ride and experience, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together in such a short time,” the Australian wrote on his Instagram profile, without explaining his decision.

Philipoussis joined Tsitsipas midway through last season and helped him reach the Australian Open final, which the Greek lost to Novak Djokovic.

He also played in the Roland Garros final in 2021, when he was also defeated by Djokovic. This season, he played the final on clay in Barcelona, where he was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz, then the semi-finals in Rome and two quarter-finals in Madrid and Monte Carlo.
