Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas points out that it is time for the “big three” to be replaced from the top of the “white sport”.
Tsitsipas has already pointed out that he has very high expectations for the 2023 season.
-” I set a high bar for myself. In terms of my chances of winning Grand Slams, I need to take that little extra step that I haven’t been able to do so far. I feel like I’m close to something important, I was already third in the world, but the elbow surgery set me back a bit. I intend to return to that level, I want to be number two and number one in the world.” – began Tsitsipas.
Because of everything that has befallen the “big three” this year, there have been discussions about who will replace them. Namely, Novak Djokovic missed many tournaments due to his vaccination status, while Roger Federer retired, and Rafael Nadal had major problems with injuries.
-” We are all in that race, but I don’t know if the viewers are ready for it. There are only a few heroes in a successful sport, that’s what makes it so attractive. For almost two decades, we had Roger, Rafa and Novak, who are still here. We grew up with them. Now there are many more players who want to take the helm, I’m not sure if this will contribute to the popularity of tennis, but it’s clear that the new guys are there-” Stefanos concluded.
