REACTIONS FROM AUSTRALIA: Djokovic in Melbourne? Very interesting, that's all I'm going to say!

Australian tennis players, James Duckworth and Alex de Minaur, commented on the fact that Novak Djokovic will still play at the upcoming Australian Open.

After more than a month of waiting, it has been confirmed that the first racket in the world will play in his favorite Grand Slam tournament.

Novak Djokovic has been granted a medical exemption from the rule that all tennis players who want to play in the Australian Open must be vaccinated.

The Australian national team players, James Duckworth and Alex de Minaur gave their views on the whole situation, after the defeat by the Russian team in the ATP Cup.

– I do not know what the criteria are for obtaining an exemption, it is clear that there is an independent commission. He must have fulfilled the conditions somehow. If so, then he should come – said Duckworth.

– I think it’s very interesting. That’s all I’m going to say. But hey, that’s how it is. I just hope that other tennis players will be granted an exemption, that they will all meet the conditions – De Minaur added.

The Australian Open has been on the program since January 17. Novak Djokovic will defend the title.

It will be a great opportunity for the Serbian ace to overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the first place of the eternal list of winners of Grand Slam titles.
