After the end of Wimbledon, the debate continued about who is the best tennis player of all time.
The former Indian tennis player Sanja Mirza, three-time doubles Grand Slam champion, was not immune to that story either, who expressed her admiration for the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic.
“The debate about GOAT will continue, but I definitely think that Novak, if his health is good, will become the greatest male tennis player ever if you look at the numbers. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal pushed each other to become the best and they are grateful to each other for that, but Novak pushed them to the limit,” Mirza began.
What she particularly singled out is the physical fitness that Djokovic has at the age of 36.
“Novak is evolving physically, he has done everything in his power to be at his peak, especially now that he is 36 years old. He says 36 is the new 26 and he really lives it. The way he behaves and moves, along with his diet and training, are all signs that he is becoming the best version of himself. His version of GOAT is really frightening,” stated Mirza and concluded:
“It’s all or nothing when he steps on the field. He wants to break records and I think he will cross every limit. He wants to perfect everything he can, to be mentally and emotionally in the best possible state”.
