Marsha Blackburn, a US senator, sent a letter to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding Novak Djokovic and the ban on him not being able to enter the US because he was not vaccinated.

The US Open, one of the world’s leading tennis tournaments, recently confirmed that Novak Djokovic will not be able to participate due to the Biden administration. Although the US Open does not mandate mandatory vaccination for players, the tournament will respect the US government’s stance on travel to the country for unvaccinated non-US citizens. Djokovic’s news highlights the CDC’s problematic policy that, in order to travel to the US, an individual must be fully vaccinated with the primary series of the approved vaccine against COVID-19.
Americans are ready to overcome the pandemic and its endless list of rules, but the Biden administration wants it to last forever. By banning Novak Djokovic from competing at the US Open, the Biden administration makes it clear that it would like to impose a ‘lifetime pandemic’. Illegal migrants can cross borders without proof of vaccination, but Djokovic cannot play at the US Open.
The mandates of the Biden administration are not the wishes of the American people. I am writing to request that you allow Novak Djokovic to play at the upcoming US Open and to remove the remaining covid rules.
