Ivanisevic: Novak will be even better, he trains as if he is 22

Goran Ivanisevic points out that he believes that Novak Djokovic can shine next season.

The current work ethic of the best tennis player from Serbia is at the highest level.

“He trains even harder than when he was 22 years old, that’s why he’s still so good and that’s why he’ll be even better. The will to train, the will to progress and take care of the body – it’s incredible. In my time, we retired at the age of 30-31, then we were considered old, and you can see Roger, Rafa and Novak. They say that young people are coming and some have done incredible things like Alcaraz, and that’s great for tennis, but Novak is still hungry, he’s still winning, he’s still playing incredibly. He is already thinking about preparations for the next season. As long as he is like that, in his mind he will be a contender and a favorite to win the biggest tournaments,” Ivanisevic began.

Novak had a great serve this season.

“Yes, but his serve is an underrated shot throughout his career – if you look at his matches from five to ten years ago, even then somehow his serve saved him. It is true that he is even better now, and on Sunday he was incredibly accurate behind us with a high percentage. Every time he needed to, he hit a great first serve, and his second serve is much better. There are many other things that he does excellently, so people sometimes don’t talk about the service,” Goran concluded.
