Novak Djokovic found out his rival in the first round of the US Open in today’s draw. The first obstacle to the best tennis player of all time will be the Frenchman – Alexandre Muller.
The French tennis player is currently ranked 85th in the world and should not pose too much of a problem for Djokovic in the opening round of the last Grand Slam of the season.
If he defeats his first rival, Djokovic will meet the winner of the duel between the Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles and the American Ethan Quinn in the next round.
If all the favorites were to advance, Novak would meet with Djere or Nakashima in the third round, and Felix Auger-Aliassime or Francisco Serundolo would wait for him in the fourth.
Furthermore, Novak could cross rackets with Taylor Fritz or Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals, while in the semi-finals Holger Rune or Casper Ruud could be opponents.
On the other side of the draw from Djokovic is Carlos Alcaraz (impossible meeting before the final) who was not at all as lucky as Novak.
