Novak Djokovic started his Wimbledon campaign with a solid win, despite losing one set. The seven-time Wimbledon champion beat French player Alexandre Muller 6-1, 6-7 (7), 6-2, 6-2 on Tuesday to reach the second round.
Djokovic played well in the first set, breaking Muller’s serve three times. Muller fought back by winning the second set in a tie-break, but Djokovic came back strongly to win the next two sets comfortably.
Djokovic said he felt unwell during the second set and thought he might have had a stomach bug. After taking some medicine, he felt better and finished the match well.
He expressed his happiness to be back at Wimbledon, calling it a special tournament and a dream for many players.

Djokovic is aiming to win a record 25th Grand Slam title here. He has been tied with Margaret Court on 24 Grand Slam wins since 2023. Winning Wimbledon would also equal Roger Federer’s record of eight men’s titles at this tournament.
At 38 years old, Djokovic knows time is running out as younger players like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner rise to the top.
