The best Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, once again had a double reason to celebrate after his victory over Jordan Thompson in the second round of Wimbledon.
Although the Australian played the best match of his career, it was not enough to threaten the seven-time Wimbledon champion. Djokovic reacted very well to the great challenge that befell him already in the second round of the third Grand Slam, which is quite an early stage for a match like this.
In the third round, Novak will have an even bigger challenge, one would say, because he is waiting for a possible rival who has followed him throughout his career, Stan Wawrinka, who must first overcome Thomas Martin Etcheverry.
Djokovic admitted that he didn’t expect such a difficult match in the second round, which was shown by his reaction when he won the last point and thus marked another anniversary – Novak Djokovic’s 350th Grand Slam victory!
As for this parameter, when we look at the male and female competition, only Serena Williams (367) and Roger Federer (369) are ahead of him. Given that both have finished their careers, and that Novak is still dominating, there are great chances that he will become the absolute number one in this as well!
