Alexander Zverev broke up with his coach Sergio Burger.
The German tennis player decided on this move after the tournament in Madrid.
The reason is the overlap in the thinking of the two sides, as well as with Zverev‘s father.
“It was always clear that he was part of my team because my father was not feeling well. We decided together, together with Sergio, to end our cooperation immediately after Madrid. My father, Serhi, and I do not share the same opinion on how to approach my tennis, or how to play tennis after an injury. He is a fantastic person who helped me a lot for a year and a half, until the last Roland Garros, when my father was away. I wish him all the best in the future. I want to go my own way and be in this more familiar environment again,” said Zverev.
