The director of Australian Open threatened the fans because of Djokovic

Director of the Australian Open, Craig Tiley, warned the fans that they will be kicked out of the stands if they insult Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic in any way.

The nine-time Australian Open champion was deported from Australia last year because of his stance on coronavirus vaccines, but has been invited to this year’s tournament and is currently preparing for his first Grand Slam of the season.

“If the fans spoil anyone’s enjoyment – they will be kicked out. We don’t want them there. They can walk away on their own or we will kick them out,” said Tyley.

He urged fans to show respect for the players in Melbourne.

“What I’ve always liked about Melbourne is the great respect for excellence and sport, which is probably greater than anywhere else in Australia. I expect the fans to appreciate that,” added the director of the Australian Open.

The draw for the Australian Open will be held on Thursday, and the tournament is scheduled from January 16 to 29.
