Last weekend, several Maltese athletes achieved notable success at the German Grand Prix of Table Football, which featured international participation across various categories.
Jason Pisani was among the standout performers, winning the Veterans category after defeating Santo Longo in the final. In the same category, John Zammit reached the quarter-finals, showing consistent performances throughout the tournament.
Among the younger competitors, Gabriel Ebejer had a strong showing in the Under-16 category, reaching the final but losing to Angelo Bisio. His brother, Thomas Ebejer, reached the semi-finals in the Under-20 category. George Ebejer, who competed in the Open category, also made it to the quarter-finals, a strong overall showing from the Ebejer family for the Maltese contingent.
Meanwhile, in the team category, Bormla Subbuteo Club continued to demonstrate their dominance by winning the final against Catania. It was an outstanding performance by Bormla, further strengthening their reputation in the sport.
The team of Stembert, which included John Zammit, also had a positive tournament, reaching the semi-finals. Zammit gave an exceptional contribution, he remained unbeaten throughout the competition, which was crucial to his team’s progress.
