The second stage of the 2025 European Snooker Championship, organised by the European Billiards and Snooker Association, begins this Saturday in Golem, Albania. After the Men’s Individual Championship held in March in Antalya, Turkey, the focus now shifts to the Seniors Individual, Seniors Team, and Men’s Team competitions.
Alongside these, the championship will also include Shoot-Out, 6 Reds, and Q Tour events. The tournament runs until Sunday 19 October, ending with the final of the Men’s Team competition.
Ivan Brincat, President of the Malta Billiards & Snooker Association, is leading the Maltese team in Albania.
The first event to start is the Seniors Individual category, with 80 players from 22 different countries taking part. Representing Malta in this event are Alex Borg, Arthur Cachia, Frans Mintoff, Philip Ciantar, Tony Mifsud, and Ivan Attard. All group stage matches for this category will be played across Saturday and Sunday.
There are 20 groups, each made up of four players. Each player will play three matches. All Maltese players are in action on the opening day, with Arthur Cachia, Ivan Attard, and Tony Mifsud scheduled to play twice.
The day is split into four match sessions at 10:00, 13:30, 16:00, and 20:00. The Maltese players will be involved in the following nine matches on Saturday:
