Sweden wins Olympic gold in curling

The Swedish national team won Olympic gold in curling in Beijing.

In the final, they defeated Great Britain with the result of 5:4 and thus reached the gold medal.

Sweden was fourth in 2010, third in 2014, and second four years ago, but this time they finally reached the first step of the podium.

The bronze medal was won yesterday by the selection of Canada, which was celebrated in the match for the third place against the USA – 8:5.

Niklas Edin from Sweden thus won the only big title he missed in his career. He lost in the final four years ago in Pyongyang.
