Following the grand opening ceremony held yesterday, today, Thursday, the 24th of October, marked the beginning of a significant journey for Team Malta at the prestigious FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia. Today, Nicky Gauci received the actual car he will be using in the F4 Competition, and the vehicle was meticulously set up both mechanically and adorned with the distinctive Malta livery to stand out among competitors.
Similarly, the karting drivers were handed unassembled karts to assemble and pass through scrutiny. The FIA scrutineers also meticulously inspected their racing suits and accessories, such as shoes, gloves, and helmets, to ensure everything was FIA Homologated per the event’s standards.
Our eSports team has made a promising start to the competition. The races have begun, and we are excited to share their progress. Dean Vella has secured a commendable 13th place out of 30 competitors, while Keith Camilleri currently holds an impressive 11th out of 53. Their performance clearly demonstrates their skill and dedication, and we are immensely proud of them.
Looking ahead, Nicky Gauci and the Karting competitors have an exciting day planned for tomorrow, Friday 25th. They will kick off their racing practice runs, further honing their skills and preparing for the upcoming challenges.
