Local based betting company Merdianbet has signed a two year collaboration agreement with the Aquatics Sports Association of Malta.
The agreement will see the Meridiabet brand being associated with both the Men’s and Women’s senior National teams.
The agreement was signed by Stefan Pavlovic Director of Meridianbet who was representing the company who has also a strong business presence not only in Malta but also internationally especially in all Balkan countries. On the other hand the agreement was countersigned by Karl Izzo and George Farrugia President and General Secretary respectively of the ASA.
Commenting at the end of the signing ceremony Karl Izzo stated that it was an honour for him and for the ASA that a a big international betting company like Meridianbet was investing heavily in local aquatics. ‘This agreement means a lot for us, apart from the financial aspect it it a rubber stamp confirmation that we are being perceived as being a professional and trustworthy Association who is constantly trying to raise the bar’
Stefan Pavlovic from his end remarked that Meridianbet was proud to partner with the ASA as being the organiser of all aquatic sports in Malta. ‘It is indeed important for us to be associated with the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta especially with the game of Water polo the second most popular sport in the Maltese Islands’ commented Mr Pavlovic.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday morning just few days before the Malta National Water polo team makes its debut in the European Aquatics Championships qualification group in which the Maltese will face Portugal, Ukraine and France in that order. The first two placed team in this group will qualify for the 2026 European Championships that will be held in Belgrade, Serbia between the 10th and 25th January.
