Neptunes ASC have successfully completed a significant transfer coup by reacquiring the talented goalkeeper Matthew Castillo from Exiles ASC.
During the previous summer, Castillo was temporarily loaned to their neighboring rivals, Sliema ASC, and had an impressive season with the Blues.
Castillo managed to secure a regular spot in the first team for the final seven matches of the season and played a crucial role in helping the team achieve a memorable league and cup double, at the expense of San Ġiljan.
After the expiration of his contract with Exiles, Castillo had hoped to make his move to Sliema ASC permanent, the club where he started his career.
Unfortunately, negotiations with Sliema ASC did not result in an agreement, causing the transfer to fall through.
Neptunes immediately joined the race and successfully reached an agreement with Castillo, who has now signed a four-year contract with the club.
For Castillo, this transfer signifies a return to his former club, Neptunes, where he had previously played earlier in his career.
Meanwhile, Neptunes goalkeeper Alan Borg Cole is set to depart from the Balluta Bay club and join Exiles ASC.
