European Aquatics has announced a significant increase in prize money for the 2025/26 season of its top water polo club competitions – the Champions League and the Euro Cup.
These improvements come following a new three-year sponsorship agreement with Wood Nest Sports (WNS), signed earlier this year. As part of this deal, both prize money and entry fees for the competitions have been revised to support and reward participating clubs more fairly.
In the men’s Champions League, the 2025/26 winners will now receive €125,000 – a much larger prize than in previous years. For the first time, only the top four teams – winners, runners-up, third and fourth place from the Final Four – will receive prize money, giving greater value to reaching the final stage.

The men’s Euro Cup champions will also see their prize money doubled, and runners-up will now also receive a cash award.
On the women’s side, the Champions League winners will now be awarded €20,000, while prize money for the Euro Cup remains unchanged.
In total, €435,000 will be distributed in prize money for the 2025/26 season.
Additionally, entry fees will be reduced across all club competitions. For example, the men’s Champions League entry fee will now be €20,000.
These changes aim to make competitions more attractive and financially fair for clubs, encouraging wider participation and stronger competition.
