Zach Zammit finishes first in his class and 8th overall

Maltese Hillclimb Racing Driver Zach Zammit faced challenges during the 10th round of the British National Hillclimb Championship. The event, held at Shelsley Walsh on Saturday, the 10th and Sunday, the 11th, saw Zammit and his team tirelessly working to overcome technical issues with the car. Despite these setbacks, Zammit’s determination and the team’s efforts were evident throughout the weekend. 

On both practice runs on Saturday and the 1st run on Sunday, Zammit encountered technical problems. However, the most thrilling moment came when he started his 2nd timed run on Sunday and immediately realized that the car had been fixed, setting the stage for a dramatic turn of events.

Zammit proudly shared, “Once the car was fixed, I achieved the fastest time in my class and qualified for the run-off. The time was 23.93, which secured my place and marked a significant improvement in my personal best time. I managed to shave off a substantial 0.29 seconds, from 24.22 to 23.93.” This improvement is a testament to Zammit’s progress and determination.

This meant that Zammit finished the race weekend 8th overall in the run-off and 1st in his class.
