Qormi Daikin are the winners of the HAM Challenge Cup after beating GREE Zurrieq Wolves Hotsticks 2-1 in the final.
It was a very intense game between two of the best local hockey teams. Qormi started very well as they scored a goal in the first quarter and added another in the third quarter. Although Zurrieq reduced the margin of the score, this was not enough for them.
It was Luke Bajada who put the Yellow/Blacks ahead with John Williams doubling the score.
In the fourth quarter, the Wolves started to press and reduced the score through the youngsters Jayden Cutajar.
At the end of the match, Hockey Association of Malta general secretary Dario Cacopardo presented the cup to Qormi Daikin player Luca Fsadni.
Umpires were Glen Bonello and James Mizzi.
From the Hockey 7s, Floriana Young Stars dominated their match against Rabat to win 4-0.
Marvin Vella, Deemer Rapinett, Justin Farrugia and Marvin Grixti scored the goals for Floriana.
Umpires were Alessandro Amore and John Williams.
From the under-14 league, Floriana Young Stars beat GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks 2-1.
Dean Spiteri and Gabriel Corina scored for the Greens with Zurrieq answering through Jack Cassar Bonavia.
Umpires were Oscar Toledano and Jerome Carabott.
