A charity football match organised by Ħamrun Ħanin in aid of The Malta Trust Foundation took place last Saturday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, bringing together football fans, former players and families for an afternoon of sport and solidarity.
The event featured a friendly contest between Team Ħanin and Team Trust, made up of ex-players from some of Malta’s most well-loved football clubs. The occasion was marked by a lively atmosphere and a strong sense of community, as supporters gathered to cheer on their favourite local legends while contributing to a worthy cause.
Before kick-off, children from Programme Tbissima were given a moment to shine, taking to the pitch to play and later accompanying the players as they walked out onto the field. The touching gesture captured the spirit of the day, celebrating inclusion, hope and togetherness.
After an entertaining match filled with skilful play and sportsmanship, Team Trust emerged victorious with a 3–1 win. Applause and laughter echoed across the stadium as players and fans came together to celebrate not just the final score, but the collective effort to support The Malta Trust Foundation’s ongoing work with vulnerable young people.
The initiative by Ħamrun Ħanin highlighted the unifying power of football in Malta, proving that sport can bring communities closer while making a meaningful difference.
