The Stripes, at the back of their UEFA Women’s Champions League commitments, produced a commanding performance to win their third consecutive match in the Assikura Women’s League.
On the other hand, Swieqi have now lost two of their opening three defeats, both against title contenders in Hibernians and Birkirkara.
They are on three points, having won against Valletta in their second outing.
On her first league start, Birkirkara opened the score after 10 minutes through Erica Bispo.
The Stripes, then, scored three more goals in less than 20 minutes between the 47th and 65th minute.
Japanese midfielder Yuna Hazekawa grabbed two goals while Alishia Cassar, who is now the club’s captain in the absence of Stephania Farrugia, scored the other goal.
Karima Abdulai scored Swieqi’s consolation goal in stoppage time.
Valletta sprung Matchday 3’s surprise as they held title contenders Mġarr United to a goalless draw.
For the Citizens, this is their first point of the season albeit they are yet to score in this Assikura Women’s League campaign.

Hibernians secured their second win of their women’s league campaign after beating Mtarfa in Matchday 3’s opener.
For the Paolites, this is their second win in three league outings as they are now on seven points.
On the other hand, Mtarfa remain without points after their straight defeat.
Hibernians drew first blood inside the first minute of the match through Brazilian playmaker Joelma who lobbed the ball over Dorienne Grech.
Joelma doubled the lead for the Paolites with a well-struck freekick, just before half-time.
Hibernians stuck a third through captain Nicole Sciberras who slotted home from point-blank range before Leah Ayres made it four with a close-range effort that beat Grech.
Joelma recorded her persona halt-trick in the 66th minute when she capitalized on Sciberras’ well-weighted assist.
Defender Jessica Dimech beat Grech with a brilliant long-range strike as Hibernians made them six.
Amy Busuttil, who came on as a substitute in the second half, added a seventh with another strike that gave no chance to the Mtarfa goalkeeper to clear out.
Joelma’s fourth goal, Hibernians’ eighth, came ten minutes from time when she headed home an Alexis Espitia’s cross.
Natalee Geren made it 9-0 with another shot from outside the penalty area.
Sciberras sealed the win with the 10th goal as Hibernians secured a comfortable victory over Mtarfa.
San Ġwann registered their second win of the season after beating Lija Athletic.
Hailey Russell drew first blood for San Ġwann, scoring on the 39th minute.
Their joy was cut short instantly when Vanessa Honorio levelled terms for Lija.
Nonetheless, San Ġwann snatched the winner through Yasmin Attard as they moved to six points.
Lija Athletic remain on three.
