The Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport (AIMS) organised a comprehensive workshop for its team of Education Integrity Officers, designed to assess current educational initiatives and further strengthen their role in safeguarding the integrity of sport in Malta.
The workshop focused on mapping existing gaps between national education initiatives and AIMS’ long-term vision for clean and ethical sport. Together officers examined local realities, identified persistent challenges, and contributed to a collective roadmap for improved integrity education across all sporting levels.

In addition to the educational components, the officers also received targeted training on intelligence gathering in collaboration with AIMS’ Anti-Doping Testing Department. This integrated approach ensures that educators are not only equipped to inform and inspire, but also to recognise and report potential threats to sporting integrity.
The initiative builds on a year of significant progress for AIMS, with 2024–2025 seeing the introduction of updated topics, greater outreach across sporting disciplines, and the appointment of new dedicated education officers to serve on the frontline of sport integrity.

“This was a crucial opportunity for our Education Integrity Officers to reflect, recalibrate, and upskill,” said Andy Grech, Director of Education and Research at AIMS. “By combining education and intelligence capabilities, we’re ensuring that our team can support all members of the local sporting community—not just athletes—in building a culture grounded in fairness, accountability, and respect.”
