ŻRQ Bormla triumphs over Swieqi Futsal in Enemed Futsal League clash

ŻRQ Bormla emerged victorious in a direct challenge against Swieqi Futsal, securing a 4-3 win and solidifying their position as the second-ranked team in the Enemed Futsal League standings.

The match showcased an exciting turnaround, with Swieqi initially taking a commanding three-goal lead. However, ŻRQ Bormla displayed resilience, staging a comeback with four goals, ultimately clinching the triumph.

Brayan Stiven, Marcelo Alarcon, and Ryan Muscat found the net for Swieqi, while ŻRQ Bormla responded with goals from Karl Luke Schembri, Jovica Milijic, Karl Sciortino, and Jose Rodrigo.

Referees Stephen Vella and Andrea Naudi oversaw the closely contested match.

Meanwhile, league leaders University of Malta ACJ Group continued their dominant form, securing a resounding 13-1 victory over Sliema Futsal. Gia Nikvashvili starred for the University team, scoring four goals, with contributions from Paul Scerri, Zvezdan Vukovic, and Raimundo Nonato.

Luxol, the reigning local futsal champions, cruised to a comfortable 6-0 victory against Ta’ Xbiex. Gabriel Dobre’s team showcased control from the start, securing three goals by halftime.

Marsaskala Futsal displayed progress with a 10-3 win over the Maltese Under-19 national team, while Gżira United Santa Margherita secured their first win of the season by defeating the Maltese Under-18 national team 7-3.

Felipe Andres Aguilera Linares shone with five goals for Gżira United, while Yessous Camilleri and Bernard Sciberras also contributed. Charles Emeric Colaud, Brave Azzopardi, and Russell Borg scored for the Maltese Under-18 national team.
