Lija Athletic Edges Santa Margherita in a Thriller
Lija Athletic Futsal emerged victorious in a nail-biting 3-2 encounter against Santa Margherita Futsal. The first half ended level at 1-1 after Estefany Colorenarez opened the scoring for Santa Margherita and Ruth Steer Cheetham equalized for Lija. In the second half, an own goal by Ilenia Navarro put Lija ahead, and Steer Cheetham completed her brace with a third goal. Although Audrey Chetcuti found the net for Santa Margherita, it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit. Referees for the match were Andrea Naudi and Danilo Francalanza.
Swieqi United Claim Back-to-Back Wins
Swieqi United LEC 07 secured their second consecutive win with a 3-1 triumph over Iklin Futsal. After gaining the lead late in the first half, Swieqi continued to dominate, adding two more goals before Iklin reduced the deficit. Krista Montfort, Vanessa Honorio Carneiro, and Michela Felice were on target for Swieqi, while Mariah Catanzaro scored the lone goal for Iklin. Marco Orazio La Rosa and Sillah Al Hasana officiated the match.
