University of Malta ACJ Group clinched their twelfth win of the season in the Enemed Futsal Premier League after beating Birżebbuġa St Peter’s 7-2.
This was the second game of the Universitarians in the Elite Round phase with David Bobokhidze’s boys who continued to maintain their consistency.Guillherme Fonseca scored three goals, Raimundo da Silva was the author of a double while Gia Nikvashvili and Steven Camilleri scored for their team.Kieran Debono and Armando Gjepali reduced the scoring margin for the Seasouthsiders.Referees were Stephen Vella and Andrea Naudi.Luxol champions won their challenge against ZRQ Bormla 5-4. The latter never gave up against Gabriel Dobre’s team where, despite being 5-1 down, they were able to keep believing until the end.Matthew Attard and Luke Gatt scored twice each while Andre Ciancio added another for the team from St Andrew’s.ZRQ Bormla found the net after a double by Mohammed Elamari and goals by Jovica Milijic and Rodrigo da Silva.
Referees were Clinton Cassar and Jude Amin Utulu.In the Enemed Challenger League, Marsaskala Futsal continued to occupy the first place in the table after beating the Maltese under-19 team 10-4.The Marsaskala outfit were dominant for most of the time where they had Mohammed Ayoub Ahmad who scored five goals. Amir Ashtiyani scored twice while Pavlo Bekesha, Alessio Restuccia and Craig Pickard were among the scorers.
The Maltese youngsters scored through Collin Sammut, Benjamin Bonello Ghio, Warren Vella and Jamie Sultana.Referees were Danilo Francalanza and Marco La Rosa.Ta’ Xbiex won 7-5 against neighbors Sliema Futsal.Stefi Cale, Liam Caruana and Juan David Bautista scored twice each while Christian Wismayer added his name among the scorers.Sliema Futsal reduced the score after a hat trick from Kevin Sammut and other goals from Karl Azzopardi and Juan Morales Poveda.Referees were Marco La Rosa and Marco La Rosa.Gzira United Santa Margherita continued to climb the table after a victory against the Maltese under-18 team.The young Maltese were a tough nut to crack for the Maroons where at one point they were winning 2-1.
However, Gżira United Santa Margherita turned the score in their favour to take the three important points.Yessous Camilleri scored four goals for Gżira while Anthony Spiteri, Ayrton Duncan and Felipe Aguilera were also among the scorers.The under-18 team found the net thanks to the goals of Brave Azzopardi (double), Essien Borg, Russell Borg and Maximilian Tomasuolo.Referees were Stephen Vella and Clinton Cassar.
