Frenchman Pierre Gasly, a Formula 1 driver who is currently competing for AlphaTauri, spoke out about the change of calendar and track in Monaco.
As we wrote earlier, Formula 1 plans to expand the calendar to 24 races, which include races in Las Vegas and Qatar.
Therefore, the question arises whether one of the current tracks will lose its place.
There has been a great deal of discussion about Monaco and whether it should be dropped because it is not overly interesting in the modern era.
The reason for this is because the track in Monaco is too narrow for modern cars and when it comes to overtaking on the track it is a real rarity.
However, Gasly does not agree with that statement.
“If we lose Monaco, it will be a shock. It is an iconic track and even people who do not follow Formula 1 know about it. Monaco is one of the most difficult tracks in the championship and one of my favorites. Although the French GP is on the calendar, including Belgium because the Spa is very close to my house, Monaco is somehow my home. “Spa and Monaco are legendary trails, there must be places for them,” Gasly said.
