Experienced defender Steve Borg has agreed to return to Valletta, the club where he spent six successful seasons earlier in his career.
For the past three and a half years, the 37-year-old, played for Ħamrun Spartans, helping them win three league titles and two Super Cups. He was also part of their historic runs in European competitions.

A youth product of Mosta, Borg made his Maltese Premier League debut in the 2005/06 season. He joined Valletta in season 2009/10, winning three league titles, two FA Trophies, and three Super Cups during his first spell with the club.
In 2015/16, he had a short spell abroad with Aris Limassol in Cyprus, where he helped the club stay in the top division. Borg returned to Malta in 2016 and rejoined Valletta, adding another two league titles, an FA Trophy, and three more Super Cups to his name.
Borg has a total of 331 appearances in the Malta Premier League. With Valletta, he played 287 games in all competitions, making him number 8 in the all-time appearances list.
Steve Borg was named the MFA Footballer of the Year for the 2019/20 season.

He has also made 81 appearances for the Malta national team.
