Mosta snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat with a dramatic stoppage time win against Zabbar St Patrick.
This exciting fixture pitted two teams who were looking for a positive result and make the Top 6 with Mosta already ensconced in that coveted position. Zabbar started the match brightly and had a fine chance on 14 minutes with a shot by Giancarlo Goncalves that went just wide. Minutes later the same Goncalves saw his effort sail just over the bar from a free kick.
Zabbar had another chance on 18 minutes when a free kick by Brian Ariel Gambarte was punched away by David Akpan in the Mosta goal. Mosta had their best chance of the match just before half time after Kone Souleymane smashed an effort which however ended up wide.
Zabbar finally took the lead on 63 minutes when Regala De Figueiredo Tavares stabbed home from close range much to the delight of the vociderous Zabbar support. Mosta attempted to press forward after that, but Zabbar held firm and were also dangerous on the counter. Most of the second half was played in massive rain with strong winds also hampering proceedings.
But in stoppage time, Mosta managed to equalize courtesy of Marcia Matthew Bolanos. And a minute later the unthinkable happened when Emmanuel Prince Chiuzibor snatched a winner with the match descending into mayhem.
