Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez did not hide his dissatisfaction after the draw with Rayo Vallecano in the first round of LaLiga, as the final score was 0:0.
“I understand the disappointment, we had high expectations. We have to analyze the game well, to improve and continue to believe in the model”, said Xavi.
The new reinforcement that arrived in the ranks of Barca, Robert Lewandowski, failed to be among the scorers in the first official match.
“I’m happy because he works for the team. He controls the ball very well and helps the team. But of course, we need a little more efficiency. That was the team’s main problem. Robert and all of us were a bit disappointed. But it is a matter of time when he will make the difference he was brought in for,” added Xavi.
Although Barsa spent 153 million euros during the summer transfer window, the coach of the Catalan club announced new reinforcements.
“I already said that we have to continue to strengthen and we have time until August 31, especially we have to bring in a right back. But that is no alibi for us for this match,” Xavi concluded.
