Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez was angry with referee Lahoz after the match against Espanyol.
Barca played only 1:1 in the city derby, and the referee of the match showed as many as 18 yellow and two red cards.
“The draw is our fault. We can talk about the referee, but the problem was our inefficiency. We had a good half hour in the beginning, I think we had 22 chances, but when you don’t score, then you give the opponent a chance to come back. In the second half, we did not play with the expected intensity. We finish the year level with Real, but we lost two points and it’s our fault”, says Xavi, referring to the trial.
“Mateu is a referee who gives the feeling that he controls the match, he constantly communicates, but today it wasn’t like that and I told him that at the end of the match. He was handing out useless cards. The referee must be cool and have a calm heart, today was not like that”.
