Juventus snatched their first win of this season UEFA Champions League dramatically, as a stoppage-time strike from Jonathan David earned a 3-2 victory over Bodo Glimt and shattered the Norwegian side’s hopes of a famous result.

Bodo Glimt came into the match boasting four straight home wins against Italian opposition, but it was the two-time European champions who settled quicker in the Arctic conditions. Francisco Conceicao was first to threaten, forcing a smart save with a fierce drive from the edge of the area, before Vasilije Adzic saw a back-post volley drop onto the roof of the net.

The hosts responded through Ole Didrik Blomberg, who dragged a shot just wide, but he made no mistake moments later. Ghosting in at the far post from a Kasper Hogh flick on at a corner, Blomberg turned the ball in from close range to claim his first Champions League goal and give Bodo Glimt a 1-0 lead.
That strike jolted Juventus into life. Adzic went close to levelling with a well-struck effort that was excellently saved, and Conceicao was denied again on the stroke of half-time. At the other end, Patrick Berg was thwarted by Mattia Perin after a powerful attempt, while Hogh saw a deflected shot spin narrowly past the upright as the Norwegians pressed for a second.
A huge second half lay ahead, and Luciano Spalletti’s team started it in ideal fashion. A spell of penalty area chaos ended with the ball breaking kindly for Lois Openda, who reacted sharply and drilled a crisp right-footed finish into the net to end a personal goal drought that stretched back to early April.
Within minutes, the turnaround was complete. Fabio Miretti, who had just seen a goal ruled out for offside, delivered a teasing cross to the far post, where Weston McKennie rose highest and powered in a towering header to make it 2-1 to Juventus.
The Old Lady, who had arrived in Norway with only two wins from their previous thirteen matches in all competitions, suddenly looked transformed. Conceicao had another curling effort pushed around the post as Juventus chased a third, while Perin had to be alert at the other end to tip away an ambitious thirty-yard free kick from Berg.
That save sparked a late surge from Bodo Glimt, and the hosts were handed a lifeline when Sondre Auklend was clumsily brought down in the area by Juan Cabal. Sondre Fet stepped up to take responsibility and calmly sent Perin the wrong way from the spot to bring the score back to 2-2.
The drama was not finished. With the match deep into added time, Juventus launched a rapid counterattack. The ball eventually broke kindly inside the box for Jonathan David, who remained composed and guided a low finish into the corner for a 91st-minute winner that silenced the home crowd and moved Juve into the top twenty-four of the league phase table. It was also just their second victory in their last twelve away fixtures in the Champions League.

For Bodo Glimt, the defeat is a crushing blow. Still without a win after five matches, with two draws and three losses, they now face a steep uphill task if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive.
