Tuesday night’s match at the San Siro promises to be a high-quality contest between two in-form teams, as Inter Milan and Arsenal meet in the UEFA Champions League for the second season in a row. Both sides sit at the top of their domestic leagues, but this fixture appears more important for Inter, who are under pressure to secure their place in the top eight.
Inter come into the game in good domestic form, unbeaten in their last six matches after a 1-0 win over Udinese. Their Champions League campaign started strongly with four straight wins, but two recent defeats have left their position uncertain. With a difficult away trip to Borussia Dortmund still to come, Inter will be keen to take points at home. Despite losing to Liverpool at the San Siro last time out in Europe, Inter had been unbeaten in 18 home Champions League matches before that defeat.
Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Nottingham Forest at the weekend, but they remain unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions. The Gunners have been perfect in this season’s Champions League, winning all six matches so far. They are just one point away from securing a top-eight finish and could set a new club record with a seventh straight Champions League win. Arsenal have also won all three of their away games in the competition without conceding a goal.
Inter have won two of the last three Champions League meetings between the sides, including a 1-0 home win last season. Arsenal have not won away against Italian teams in this competition since 2008.
Lautaro Martínez will be Inter’s main attacking threat, having scored more home goals in the Champions League than any other player since the start of 2025. For Arsenal, Gabriel Martinelli has scored in all five of his Champions League appearances this season.
